Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure to correct discoloration, repair breaks and cracks and fill in the tooth gaps. By applying tooth-colored materials onto the surface of a tooth, bonding provides virtually a painless procedure that usually requires just one visit. Every three to five years, some re-coating is needed.

The whole process involves applying a chemical solution on the tooth surface so that the bonding material (composite resins) can adhere. In order to match your own teeth, various color resins are carefully blended so that bonded tooth will look completely natural. After application, work is done on the bonding surfaces so they get into the natural contour shape. Then they are smoothed and polished to look natural.

Also, this procedure is very simple and can be sometimes completed within just one dentist's visit.

Drawbacks

Bonding tends to be chipped away and you may need to let us redo it after some period. On an average, tooth bonding can only lasts from three to five years.
